Thistle Hotel in Haydock
Marcus & Nathan were hired to provide the Singing Waiters service for Stephanie Powell on 15th Aug 2014, it was the first time Your Singing Waiters have visited Haydock Thistle Hotel. The main entertainment was to take place in their grand marquee, situated within the grounds. Surrounded by attractive landscaped gardens and designed around a beautiful central courtyard, the Thistle Haydock hotel is a Georgian mansion-style building, with an elegance of grandness.
Our team arrived on site midday to set up a small PA system before the day time guests arrived. Stephanie’s wedding meal was planned for 4pm, after we set up and sound checked the PA, they briefed the service and waiting-on team alongside Cathy Kennedy the Wedding coordinator. As the service begun Marcus announced the guests into the grand Marquee to be seated for the wedding meal. Marcus and Nathan played the very popular roles of Operations Manager & Trainee. During the course of the afternoon the singing waiters plotted the room, whilst involving Cathy and team from the hotel. After the main course was served Nathan, upon clearing dropped a large tray full of cutlery, drawing attention. Marcus as Operation Manager made an example and embarrassed Nathan by telling him he was stupid and should never drop a tray during wedding service this escalated to an argument and the classic scene was created.
Bursting into song both of the waiters started their live performance.
There was a balance of young & old guests. The set list they performed included songs such as:
Gary Barlow- Let her go, La Bamba – Lobos, Cant take my eyes of you – Andy Williams, Sweet Caroline – Neil Diamond, Volare ( Nel Blu Dipinto Blu) / That’s Amore- Dean Martin, I got a feeling – Back eyed peas.
Your Singing waiters will always tailor their sets to suite the audience.
This was one of our most memorable events and it was nice to work alongside the staff at the venue that added additional entertainment to our singing waiters show.
